  • Bacterial infections
  • Peptic ulcers
  • Heartburn
  • Lactose intolerance
  • Gastrointestinal tract bleeding
  • Inflammatory conditions
  • Hiatus hernia syndrome

Pain & Injury

Acupuncture may sound like an exotic—maybe even improbable—treatment for chronic pain. But this age-old practice is now viewed as an acceptable supplementary treatment for certain low back pain, neck pain, and osteoarthritis conditions.

Some of the pain conditions we treat include:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Knee and limb pain
  • Sciatica
  • Scoliosis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Carpal tunnel
  • Tendonitis
  • TMJ
  • Arthritis
  • Bursitis
  • Herniated/bulging discs
  • Numbness

Functional Medicine

The Functional Medicine model is an individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness. It requires a detailed understanding of each patient’s genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors and leverages that data to direct personalized treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes.

By addressing root cause, rather than symptoms, practitioners become oriented to identifying the complexity of disease. They may find one condition has many different causes and, likewise, one cause may result in many different conditions. As a result, Functional Medicine treatment targets the specific manifestations of disease in each individual.

Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine is an complete holistic medical system that focuses on functional diagnostic techniques and uses natural approaches to stimulate the body’s internal healing response. Naturopathic philosophy favors a holistic approach and minimal use of surgery and drugs.
“The highest duty of the modern health professional is to SAFELY manage health risk. Treating symptoms of disease rather than the patient as a whole person has little (if any) long-term benefits to those pateints…” -Dr. Andy Rosenfarb, ND
Naturopathy believes that health cannot be obtained by taking drugs and by undergoing “routine” surgical procedures. These conventional approached have their place in emergency medicine and symptom control, but do not promote health….they treat disease. As Naturopath’s our objectives are to help promote health and wellness though diet, exercise, supplementation, holistic therapies, meditation, lifestyle management. Health is the result of being responsible for one’s own health and through the daily practice of healthy living.
Each of use are born with certain physiological strengths and weaknesses. As health professionals we identify these weaknesses. We help our patients manage health risks, rather than blindly chasing symptoms. Identification and education of these core strengths and weaknesses are critical to long-term health maintenance.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

HBOT involves breathing oxygen in a pressurized chamber in which the atmospheric pressure is raised up to three times higher than normal. Under these conditions, your lungs can gather up to three times more oxygen than would be possible breathing oxygen at normal air pressure.
Your body’s tissues need an adequate supply of oxygen to function. When tissue is injured, it may require more oxygen to heal. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases the amount of oxygen dissolved in your blood. An increase in blood oxygen may improve oxygen delivery for vital tissue function to help fight infection or minimize injury.
There are now over 120 reported conditions for which hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been shown to be effective and beneficial according to numerous published medical studies.

Pregnancy

Researchers have found that acupuncture points correspond to deep-seated nerves, so that when the needles are twirled or electrically stimulated (known as electropuncture), the nerves are activated. This, in turn, triggers the release of several brain chemicals, including endorphins, which block pain signals and help to relieve a number of pregnancy symptoms.

Here are some of the pregnancy symptoms acupuncture can relieve that science has studied:

  • Morning sickness
  • Lower back and pelvic pain.
  • Depression.
  • Headaches.
  • Sleep Problems.

Fertility

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine have been used for thousands of years to successfully address infertility by restoring optimal hormonal balance, increasing circulation through the reproductive organs, and creating an overall environment where new life may flourish.
The symptom of Infertility indicates that there is and imbalance somewhere in the body. Once function, circulation, and hormonal balance is restored. Conception may be achieved once the body’s overall health is restored.
Difficulties in conceiving or maintaining a pregnancy can indicate a hormonal imbalance, metabolic imbalance and/ or poor circulation. Using Chinese medicine, we can asses the underlying imbalances and detect stress and/or weakness thought the body. A good evaluation by a well trained practitioner allows for a clear understanding of each individual case. A treatment plan is formed around the underlying patterns of imbalance found by the practitioner. In this way it is possible to successfully treat infertility and improve one’s overall health.

Acupuncture Wellness

Acupuncture & Chinese herbal medicine are on of the earliest practicing systems of medicine; they are both part of the complete and comprehensive system of Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture has emerged from over 2300 years of empirical study and observation of the dynamics of Qi or “Life Force.”
Acupuncture works by adjusting and regulating the Qi, which flows through your body’s twelve major pathways or “meridians.” Many of these meridians are internally connected with specific organs such as your Lung, Heart, Kidney, and Stomach. Along these meridians lie specific, energetic acupuncture points having a specific, traditional function.
When the Qi becomes blocked and ceases to flow smoothly through your meridians, pain, illness, and dysfunction will manifest. Acupuncture needles are so thin that you can fit eight of them into the head of a hypodermic needle. These hair-thin, acupuncture needles are inserted into acupuncture points, promoting and even flow of energy through the meridians of your body. By promoting your QI to flow through the congested meridians involved, the body can carry out its proper function of maintaining a healthy, balanced state of being. Thus, pain and discomfort will diminish, and you can return to a more enjoyable lifestyle.
From a Western medical standpoint, there are over 2000 conditions that acupuncture can treat. The effects of acupuncture have been clinically shown to increase oxygen and blood flow, in order to speed up healing. Also, the hormonal system can be directly stimulated, which can aid in the repair of your body’s cells. The effectiveness of pain control is brought about by a release of your body’s natural pain killers & tranquilizers: endorphin, serotonin, and melatonin.
